Abstract
This study investigated the effects of probiotics combined with enteral nutrition in 130 patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Compared to the control group (enteral nutrition only), the study group (probiotics plus enteral nutrition) showed significantly greater improvements in intestinal mucosal barrier markers, inflammatory factors (CRP, TNF-α, IL-6), immune function (IgG, IgM, IgA), and nutritional status at 7 and 14 days post-treatment. The probiotics group also exhibited more favorable modulation of intestinal flora, faster abdominal pain relief, and a shorter hospital stay. No difference was found in mortality, persistent organ failure, incidence of infected pancreatic necrosis, or ICU utilization.
