Background

Pediatric food allergies have increased in recent years and differences when compared with adult food allergy, including type of food allergy and natural evolution, are patent. In addition, many differences between children with similar food allergies, such as natural evolution, age, allergens, type of reaction, tolerance of other food, have been observed.

Due to these facts, this research topic focuses on pediatric food allergy, in particular the latest advances in diagnosis and management. Our aim is to share novel insights, challenges and future perspectives on diagnosis (laboratory analysis, oral food challenges and clinical symptoms) and management (natural overcome and desensitization) of pediatric food allergy.

We are interested in Original Research and Brief Research Reports on the following topics:

1. The natural course of pediatric food allergy around the world.

2. Phenotypes of pediatric food allergy around the world.

3. Non IgE mediated food allergy: diagnosis, clinical evolution and possible treatments.

4. IgE mediated food allergy: diagnosis, clinical evolution and possible treatments.

5. Novel laboratory strategies for diagnosis of food allergy.
