About this Research Topic
Today, most research has focused on the modern breeding approaches of ornamental plants which is a great breakthrough, however, the innovation in practical aspects of the production of these plants to achieve higher quality and productivity has received less attention. Also, despite the fierce commercial competition in the production of ornamental plants, the economic aspects of production and the need to reduce costs are less discussed in the scientific texts.
Therefore, while continuing to appraise modern breeding strategies, this Research Topic will focus on addressing innovation in technical aspects of ornamental plant production including propagation and cultivation strategies, classical breeding, development of new cultivars and domestication of potential wild species.
The current Research Topic especially welcomes applied and innovative research in the field of production and improvement of the quality of ornamental plants.
