Background

The Reproductive Issues in Lupus section of Frontiers in Lupus, in collaboration with Frontiers in Medicine, is pleased to announce the launch of this Research Topic to highlight themes from the 13th International Conference Reproduction, Pregnancy and Rheumatic Diseases (RheumaPreg 2025).

The Research Topic will feature scientific contributions focused on the main topics discussed at the RheumaPreg 2025 conference. These include, but are not limited to, the wide range of reproductive issues affecting women and men of child-bearing age with rheumatic diseases, including SLE, APS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, axial Spondyloarthritis, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Myositis, Scleroderma, Sjögren’s, Vasculitis, and Behçet’s.

We welcome manuscripts covering pre-pregnancy, antenatal, and intrapartum care, as well as the challenges faced in the postnatal period for women with chronic rheumatic disease.

Topics such as contraception, family planning, and reproductive rights for women of childbearing age with rheumatic disease are also encouraged, together with the many issues surrounding drug treatment of rheumatic disease in pregnancy and lactation, management of life-threatening complications of rheumatic disease in pregnancy, and manuscripts addressing pediatric outcomes for this patient group.
