About this Research Topic

This Research Topic is closed for submissions.

Background

Future directions in cardiovascular disease (CVD) management increasingly depend on the discovery and application of novel biomarkers capable of transforming prognosis, risk stratification, and therapeutic decision-making. This Special Topic will focus on the integration of emerging biomarkers—such as MRPL12, syndecan-4, and others—into clinical and translational practice, highlighting their potential to predict disease outcomes and personalize interventions.

Leveraging cutting-edge advances in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics, manuscripts in this collection will showcase innovative methodologies for early detection, dynamic risk prediction, and tailored therapy in CVD. Particular emphasis will be placed on multi-omics approaches, systems biology analyses, and artificial intelligence tools for biomarker discovery and validation.

This Special Topic aligns closely with the journal’s mission to advance clinical and translational genomics and support the integration of novel technologies in precision cardiovascular medicine. Contributions are encouraged that propose transformative strategies for biomarker-based prognostication, integrating computational biology and experimental validation to bridge the gap between bench and bedside.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

• Identification and validation of novel genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic biomarkers in CVD

• Bioinformatics approaches for multi-omics integration and biomarker discovery

• AI-driven models for cardiovascular prognosis and personalized risk prediction

• Biomarker-guided precision medicine approaches in heart failure, coronary artery disease, and cardiomyopathies

• Translational studies linking biomarker profiles to therapeutic response and outcomes

• Clinical implementation frameworks for genomics-informed cardiovascular care
