The Cost and Resource Allocation section of Frontiers in Health Services will publish innovative and methodological and applied research across the field of health economics. The section will address problems and issues around the efficient and equitable allocation of healthcare resources and methodological challenges in doing this. It will particularly focus on work that relates to the provision of health services in different settings around the world. We encourage submissions from all regions and covering any healthcare area.
We will cover the following areas in this section:
· Methods for measuring costs and outcomes in applied health services research studies
· Studies that investigate access to and use of care
· Studies that apply innovative approaches to generating evidence
· Modelling studies
· Studies that explore different approaches to financing healthcare
· Reviews of evidence on health care costs and cost-effectiveness
· Papers that address philosophical arguments relating to resource allocation
While we encourage methodological as well as applied papers, methodological submissions should be focussed on facilitating applied work. We will consider policy-related work as long as it relates to issue of economics and financing of services.
