Background

The development of climate-neutral cities is one of the main objectives of the United Nations' SDGs 2030. To this end, cities have developed numerous different strategies related to low-emission zones implementation, which is one of the main tools of these objectives in the fight against climate change.

Regulating car access to cities based on their level of pollution, development of new low-emission public transport technologies, promotion of active and healthy mobility, implementation of innovative traffic calming strategies such as superblocks, expansion of electro and micromobility, etc. These are just a few of the different actions implemented to reduce greenhouse gases in cities in the field of urban mobility. This Research Topic seeks to showcase research that highlights the studies and experiences implemented in different cities or the future challenges that must be undertaken in the search for more sustainable mobility.

This Research Topic therefore seeks contributions involving relevant experiences and case studies, innovative frameworks, or new analysis methodologies in topics such as:

- New Low-Emission research in urban areas
- Sustainable mobility planning research linked climate change
- Low Emission Zones (LEZ) experiences in cities
- Links between urban heat islands UHI and LEZ
- Micromobility and electromobility challenges against pollution
- New approaches on 15-20 minutes cities
- Post Covid-19 new effects on mobility linked to LEZ
- New urban mobility strategies against GhG pollution
