The Physical Properties of Metals section provides a forum for dissemination of high-quality fundamental and applied studies of physical properties of metals and metallic alloys. We welcome submission of experimental studies as well as reports on modelling and theoretical analyses.
Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
• Electronic and thermal behavior, including resistivity, thermal conductivity, heat capacity
• Magnetic and spintronic behavior
• Optical properties
• Phonons and lattice dynamics
• Ferroic and multiferroic behavior
• Topological metals and semimetals
• Metallic surfaces and interfaces
• Measurement and characterization methods
Due to the cross-disciplinary nature of the field, there may be overlap between this section and other Frontiers journals such as Frontiers in Physics and Frontiers in Materials, as well as other specialty sections within Frontiers in Metals and Alloys such as Physical Metallurgy, Mechanical Properties of Metals and Metal Corrosion and Protection. Authors should consider where the main focus of their research outcomes lies.
