Global, regional, and national larynx cancer burden and health inequality analysis from 1990 to 2021 with a prediction from 2022 to 2040

Laryngeal cancer imposes a substantial global health burden. This study analyzed Global Burden of Disease data from 1990 to 2021 to assess prevalence, incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years, and projected trends to 2040. Results show considerable regional variation, with higher incidence in high socio-demographic index regions and greater mortality and disability in middle-low index regions. Central Europe and the Caribbean experienced the highest burdens.Over time, health inequalities have improved, but disparities persist. The overall burden is expected to decline by 2040, highlighting the need for equitable resource allocation, improved healthcare access, and targeted public health interventions to reduce disparities.
