Objective and Methods: This study conducted a retrospective analysis of the clinical data of a patient with MD at our hospital and reviewed relevant literature on MD. It explored the clinical characteristics, endoscopic and pathological manifestations of adult Ménétrier's disease (MD) to deepen understanding of this disease. Results: The patient exhibited typical clinical manifestations and endoscopic features of MD, and the diagnosis was confirmed by pathological characteristics. A review of the literature indicates that MD is characterized by hyperplasia of the gastric mucosa. Endoscopic examination reveal congestion and distortion, while histological analysis typically shows marked hyperplasia of gastric mucosal gland cells and crypts, with cystic dilatation at the base. The specific pathogenesis and treatment regimen for MD remain unclear at present. Conclusion: MD is a rare acquired condition characterized by thickening of the gastric mucosal folds. Diagnosis relies on deep gastroscopic biopsy and Histopathological examination. Empirical medical supportive therapy as the primary treatment approach in numerous cases. In cases that are challenging to manage or where there is an increased risk of cancer, partial or total gastrectomy may be considered as an option.
