Global Excellence in Sustainability: Europe

Frontiers in Sustainability welcomes researchers from around the world to contribute to a special edition Research Topic, emphasizing the crucial role of global collaboration in driving scientific progress in Sustainability. This initiative aims to showcase the cutting-edge developments in Sustainability on a global scale, underscoring the academic excellence and impactful contributions of internationally recognized researchers.

This collection seeks to illuminate recent advancements spanning the entire spectrum of Sustainability, with a specific focus on research conducted in Europe. By assembling diverse perspectives, the goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the achievements and challenges encountered by researchers working collaboratively across borders. Contributions from researchers in the Humanities are particularly encouraged, recognizing the interdisciplinary nature of sustainable development.

We welcome a variety of contributions, including original research articles, comprehensive review papers, perspectives that offer unique insights, and opinion pieces that stimulate thoughtful discourse. The emphasis is on fostering an inclusive dialogue surrounding the accomplishments and obstacles within the Sustainability domain, specifically within the European context. Authors based at European institutions are encouraged to submit their work, and we also extend an invitation to researchers affiliated with non-European institutions. Submissions from the latter group will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, reflecting our commitment to promoting a diverse and globally collaborative perspective on Sustainability.
