Regenerative medicine is an evolving field that focuses on harnessing the body’s intrinsic ability to repair and restore damaged tissues. Autologous platelet concentrates, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), have emerged as promising biological tools in tissue regeneration and repair. Autologous platelet concentrates are derived from the patient’s own blood, containing a concentrated mix of growth factors, cytokines, and bioactive proteins that play a crucial role in cellular proliferation, differentiation, and matrix remodeling. Importantly, their individualized preparation aligns with the principles of personalized therapeutics and precision medicine, allowing treatment protocols to be tailored to the biological profile and clinical needs of each patient.
Despite significant advancements in regenerative medicine, there remains a need for personalized, safe, and cost-effective approaches for tissue repair. Autologous platelet concentrates offer a viable alternative to synthetic and allogeneic grafts, promoting natural healing while minimizing immunogenic responses. This research proposal aims to explore the mechanistic pathways through which autologous platelet concentrates mediate tissue regeneration, their therapeutic applications, and the optimization of protocols to enhance clinical outcomes.

- understanding the mechanisms of regeneration and repair: investigate the biological role of autologous platelet concentrates in tissue healing through cellular signaling and extracellular matrix modulation. - analyzing the release kinetics of growth factors (e.g., PDGF, VEGF, TGF-β, IGF-1) from different platelet concentrate formulations. - clinical applications of autologous platelet concentrates in regenerative medicine - optimization and standardization of autologous platelet concentrates preparation techniques - comparing different preparation methods (single vs. double spin, leukocyte-rich vs. leukocyte-poor PRP) and their impact on therapeutic efficacy. - explore combination therapies involving autologous platelet concentrates and biomaterials for enhanced tissue integration.
