Women in Psychiatry 2025: Neurostimulation

Frontiers in Psychiatry is proud to launch this year's Women in Psychiatry: Neurostimulation collection to showcasing recent research advances from women across the entire breadth of Neurostimulation - presenting advances in theory, experiment, and methodology.

This Research Topic is seeking submissions in various domains of cognitive neuroscience, social neuroscience, clinical psychiatry, neurology, and neuropsychiatry, which connect the dynamic interplay among brain regions to understand cognitive, emotional, or behavioral regulation. Submissions should aim to provide detailed, in-depth knowledge about the interplay between brain regions and their role in cognitive, emotional, or behavioral regulation using various neurostimulation techniques.

At present, less than 30% of researchers worldwide are women. Long-standing biases and gender stereotypes are discouraging girls and women away from science-related fields, and STEM research in particular. Science and gender equality are essential to ensure sustainable development. In order to change traditional mindsets, gender equality must be promoted, stereotypes defeated, and girls and women should be encouraged to pursue STEM careers.

Please note: to be considered for this collection, the first or last author should be a researcher who identifies as a woman.
