14th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health: Better Health for All in a Changing World

Frontiers in Tropical Diseases is pleased to launch a Research Topic inspired by the core themes of the 14th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH): “Better Health for All in a Changing World.”

The recent ECTMIH in Hamburg brought together more than 1,200 scientists presenting and discussing research in the domain of tropical medicine and global health, with the aim of disseminating research outputs and influencing equitable global health policy in Europe and worldwide.

We invite original research, reviews, and other article types exploring:
• Immunology and pathogenesis at the human–pathogen–environment interface of tropical diseases;
• Surveillance, management, and prevention of emerging and re-emerging infections;
• Advances in diagnostics and therapeutics in clinical tropical medicine;
• One Health approaches across human, animal, and environmental health;
• Health impacts of travel, migration, and mobility;
• Health equity and addressing needs of vulnerable or neglected populations;
• Non-communicable diseases in tropical settings;
• Effects of climate and environmental change on disease;
• Social determinants, behavioral science, and equity;
• Digital innovation and implementation science in tropical health.

We especially encourage researchers who presented their work at the ECTMIH to submit their manuscripts, spanning basic, clinical, and policy research from bench to bedside and from local to global settings. Contributions offering solutions to challenges in resource-limited or evolving environments are highly welcome.

Financial support is available for early career researchers and authors from Low- and Middle-Income Countries: please contact the journal for more information. All submitted manuscripts will go through a rigorous peer review to ensure that only the highest quality research is published.

The closing date of this topic is 30th July 2026. To facilitate the Editors’ work, researchers are encouraged to express their interest in publishing their article by 30th April 2026.
