As a leading Open Access publisher, Frontiers is committed to empowering not only scientists, but also researchers, innovators, and members of the public. Highlighting sustainable development and the real-world applications of Drugs Outcomes Research & Policies remains a key part of the agenda for Frontiers in Pharmacology.
Building on the success of the first volume, Novel methods and technologies for the evaluation of drug outcomes and policies, this second volume continues our mission by showcasing emerging advancements in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) techniques, methods, and tools used by the pharmaceutical industry and other non-academic bodies.
We invite contributions from researchers engaged in HEOR to share insights and forecasts on how Drugs Outcomes Research & Policies are utilized by industry. Authors are encouraged to identify current challenges and propose solutions that will enable these advanced approaches, methods, and tools to become more widely and economically viable.
For this continuing collection, we welcome articles on topics including, but not limited to:
•The use of AI/Machine learning in HEOR •Wearables and Apps as data collection tools •Automation of clinical evidence reviews, synthesis, and economic modelling •Open-source software (e.g., R) and its use in economic modelling •Advanced real-world data analysis techniques (e.g., Target Trial Emulation, quantitative bias analysis, federated data analysis) •Communicating the value of therapies through advanced HEOR methods (including innovative value assessment, Generalized CEA, and addressing health inequalities through Distributional CEA) •Advanced economic modelling and economic evaluation methods •Living systematic reviews and meta-analyses
