Background

Nano-microtechnology Enabled Immuno-Engineering and Multiscale Fabrication for Next-Generation Regenerative Medicine.

This Research Topic invites contributions exploring innovative strategies at the intersection of nanotechnology, immuno-engineering, scaffold design, dynamic culture platforms, and advanced imaging. We aim to highlight integrative approaches that bridge fundamental biological insight with translational potential.

This collection seeks to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and accelerate the translation of nano-micro enabled tissue engineering strategies into clinical practice. Contributions will be of interest to researchers working in nanomedicine, biomaterials, immuno-engineering, stem cell biology, and regenerative technologies.

We welcome original research, reviews, perspectives, and short communications addressing (but not limited to) the following areas:

• Nanomaterials and nano-microstructured scaffolds for modulating immune responses and guiding tissue regeneration

• Nanoparticle-mediated delivery systems for controlled release of immunomodulators, growth factors, drugs or gene therapies

• Nano-microengineered 3D scaffolds and fabrication strategies for recapitulating complex tissue architectures

• Bioreactor systems enabling dynamic, spatiotemporally controlled cell culture environments

• Multimodal imaging approaches, including nanoparticle contrast agents, for tracking cell fate, immune dynamics, and matrix remodeling

• Integration of nano-microenabled technologies in musculoskeletal, neural, cardiovascular, or multi-tissue regeneration models

• Translational research, safety profiling, and regulatory considerations for clinical adoption of nanotechnology-based regenerative platforms
