This paper reports a case of Chlamydia psittaci infection that initially presented with an aversion to oily foods, accompanied by significant hepatic dysfunction. The absence of early respiratory symptoms posed a major diagnostic challenge. This case suggests that Chlamydia psittaci infection may manifest atypically with digestive system symptoms as the primary presentation, and some patients may lack a clear avian contact history, which can lead to early misdiagnosis. Psittacosis should be considered in patients with unexplained liver dysfunction and pulmonary infiltrates.
