Parental involvement οr engagement is substantial for a holistic development of children, especially for children with ASD. Several interventions in ASD treatment of symptoms integrate parental involvement, with positive outcomes. ICT tools affect children with ASD in their daily lives by empowering social-emotional, communicational and educational skills. The interest of the present literature review is to survey data about the relation between ICTs and parental involvement for children with ASD, in order to describe most reported theoretical models of parental involvement and to record effective interventions which connect ICTs with PI. Combining powerful interventions could lead to better therapeutic and educational outcomes. Results from recovered studies, show that, besides methodological limitations, ICTs may be a medium for practicing parental engagement, in ASD interventions, enhancing both children with ASD and their parents. Future research could test new synthesized protocols for effectiveness in ASD treatment.
