The Factors Influencing the Acceptance of Online Examination Systems on Smart Education Platforms

The proliferation of information technology has led to the integration of online examination systems as a crucial component in the modernization of education in China. This study introduces a model for the acceptance of these systems, drawing on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), cognitive load theory, and personal innovativeness theory. Through the application of structural equation modeling (SEM) with maximum likelihood estimation on a dataset comprising 1,012 undergraduate students, the study conducts sophisticated psychometric analyses to identify pivotal adoption drivers. The findings indicate that performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, and social influence significantly bolster adoption rates, whereas cognitive load exerts a negative impact on adoption intention.
