From Historical Movements to Educational Reform: The role of the work-study movement in France in the development of vocational education in China

This paper explores the close relationship between the Work-Study Movement in France and the early modernization of China's vocational education through historical document analysis and qualitative research methods. The study found that the Work-Study Movement in France was not only an important social practice in China's modernization process, but also a key link in the development of the vocational education system. In the framework of Bourdieu's theory of society in production, through the analysis of a large number of historical archives and documents, this paper reconstructs the educational experience of students studying in France, and explores how they brought Western vocational education concepts back to China, promoted the innovation and development of China's vocational education system, and emphasized the localization of the work-study model in China's vocational education. In addition, this paper also explores the role of the Work-Study Movement in France in the socio-economic transformation and its profound impact on China's social development. The research results show that the Work-Study Movement in France not only promoted the development of China's vocational education, but also provided valuable experience for the integration of globalization and localization of China's education system.
