To investigate the harm caused by improper promotion of sports lotteries to sports lottery players, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 600 sports lottery players. At the same time, risk factors such as obsession with lotteries and problematic lottery purchasing behaviors were introduced to verify the chain mediating effect of these two variables between improper promotion of sports lotteries and the harm of lottery purchasing. In addition, based on the integrated model of lottery health risks and protection, the moderating effect of the belief in responsible lottery purchasing in the chain mediating process was also verified.
