This manuscript critically examines ableism through an interdisciplinary lens, engaging with psychological, social, and philosophical perspectives to analyze how disability is constructed within contemporary society. By integrating complexity theory, Queer theory, and the works of thinkers such as Foucault and Canguilhem, the article explores the psychological and societal mechanisms that sustain ableist biases across different social formats, including prejudice against blindness, homophobia, and medical pathologization. This aligns with Frontiers in Psychology's mission to advance knowledge on human cognition, behavior, and societal structures by challenging normative assumptions and fostering inclusive discourse. The article contributes to the journal's specialty in Cultural Psychology and Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology by offering a nuanced critique of ableism, emphasizing the intersection of psychological theory, social justice, and epistemological diversity.
