The Influence Mechanism of Job Satisfaction Among Chinese Rural Teachers --A Conservation of Resources Perspective

Rural teachers are an indispensable component of China’s education system. they undertake the vital mission of spreading knowledge, enlightening wisdom, and shaping the future in remote areas. In this study, we analyzed data from 1,038 rural teachers using multiple linear regression informed by Conservation of Resources Theory. We found that variations in mental health resources, development and security resources, welfare‑and‑treatment resources, and interest‑efficacy resources all significantly affect job satisfaction, with interest‑efficacy resources showing the strongest positive association. Based on these findings, we recommend focusing on five core resource dimensions, career interest and self‑efficacy, development and security, work–life harmony, the salary and welfare system, and psychological health, to enhance job satisfaction among rural teachers.
