This technical note presents a perspective in creation of value with time delayed agri-food supply chains (AFSC), with its respective impact on dynamic pricing, human resources and sustainability. In general, analyzing AFSC, may seem like straightforward problems given the complexity involved in managing dynamic pricing, sustainability tradeoffs, and establishing ethnographic measures to improve worker productivity from an operational perspective. In this work, a mathematical model incorporating time delays is presented for the two tier supply chain of producers and consumers, under certain assumptions. Also, finite time optimal control problem is addressed via Pontryagin Maximum Principle in analytical form. Finally, a stability and sensitivity analysis is conducted for a system with losses in the production and consumer states of the dynamic supply chain.
