This work aims to explore the impact of blockchain-driven agricultural product traceability systems on the circular economy in agriculture to provide scientific evidence for improving supply chain transparency, reducing food safety risks, and promoting resource recycling. Based on data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China Open Data Platform, this work designs a novel blockchain traceability system model. This model utilizes Hyperledger Fabric as the underlying technical platform and establishes a blockchain network structure that includes planting cooperatives, processors, logistics companies, and retailers. To ensure data transmission security and consistency, the model integrates a smart contract mechanism based on the Blake2b algorithm, further enhancing data tamper-resistance and traceability. The results show that the blockchain-driven traceability system significantly improves the transparency and traceability of agricultural product supply chains, and reduces information asymmetry in the production and distribution of agricultural products. Moreover, the implementation of the system effectively reduces agricultural product waste and increases resource utilization, thereby promoting the development of a circular economy in agriculture. Specific metrics indicate that the model achieves a 15.30% increase in supply chain efficiency and a 19.80% reduction in resource waste in the simulated agricultural product flow process. This work innovatively combines blockchain technology with the concept of a circular economy in agriculture, proposes a highly practical traceability system model and demonstrates its significant potential in practical applications. The research conclusions provide scientific evidence and technical references for policymakers and agricultural practitioners, offering new ideas for promoting green transformation and sustainable development in agriculture.
