Background

Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as Three-Dimensional (3D) Printing, is a process that creates 3D objects through an additive layering of materials. This digital manufacturing technology significantly impacts several industrial sectors, including the biomedical industries, where it is used as a versatile and cost-effective solution for fabricating highly-customized medical devices, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, drug delivery solutions, and so on.
This Research Topic aims to promote various research studies related to the biomedical applications of Additive Manufacturing. Particular emphasis would be given to novel solutions for emerging problems or future improvements in the biomedical field using various technologies of additive manufacturing, materials, and their mechanical properties.

The primary focus of the Research Topic is, but is not exclusive to, the following topics:

• 3D-printed medical devices or components
• 3D-printed tissues and organs
• 3D-printed prosthetics and implants
• 3D Bioprinting
• Implant design and analysis
• Tissue Engineering
• Biocompatible Additive Manufacturing materials
• 3D CADModeling and Organoids
• Software Tools for 3D Bioprinting

We welcome submissions from researchers working in academia, industry, and government institutions. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and originality of the research presented.
