Background

Mental health is a significant public health and social issue that impacts economic and social development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, psychosocial issues have been particularly prominent, placing immense psychological burdens on healthcare workers. The rates of professional burnout and attrition have significantly increased. The mental health of healthcare workers has broader economic and social implications. High attrition rates can lead to staffing shortages, increased healthcare costs, and reduced quality of care. Promoting mental well-being among healthcare professionals helps to ensure a stable and efficient healthcare system, which is vital for societal health and economic stability.

This Research Topic aims to better promote and advocate for the importance, standardization, and normalization of promoting mental health among healthcare professionals, and to safeguard and enhance their psychological well-being, increase job satisfaction, reduce attrition, stabilize the professional workforce, and ensure medical safety and quality.

The call for papers includes, but not limited to the following content:

1. Relevant policies and systems for promoting the mental health of healthcare institution staff.

2. Intervention measures and implementation outcomes for promoting the mental health of healthcare institution staff.

a. Intervention strategies for enhancing professional identity among healthcare professionals.

b. Intervention strategies for sleep-related issues among healthcare professionals.

c. Intervention strategies for stress regulation among healthcare professionals.

d. Intervention strategies for dealing with violence or crises encountered by healthcare professionals.

e. Intervention strategies for addressing psychological issues such as anxiety and depression among healthcare professionals.

3. Dynamic assessment and monitoring of the mental health of healthcare institution staff.

By focusing on this area, we aim to enhance the well-being of healthcare workers, improve the quality of care, and ensure a stable and resilient healthcare system that can meet the challenges of today and the future.
