This Research Topic focuses on novel insights and innovative contributions to mental health research, driven by early career psychiatrists and scientists from Europe and around the world. Contributions will encompass diverse aspects of mental health, including social and biological determinants, innovations in treatment approaches, and updates across various psychiatric research domains. By actively involving emerging researchers, this initiative aims to provide a platform for new voices and ideas in psychiatry.
The goal of this Research Topic is to support the dissemination of research studies led by early career psychiatrists active at European and International level. The present Research Topic aims to foster collaboration and mentorship between junior and senior researchers globally, addressing critical gaps in mental health science and practice. The main goals of the present research topic are ambitious and include: 1) advance understanding of key factors influencing mental health outcomes - ranging from social determinants to biological mechanisms; 2) identifying innovative interventions (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological) for improving the long-term outcome in people with severe mental disorders.
The collection will include original research, systematic reviews, mini-reviews, and case reports, fostering collaboration and advancing the field. Contributions from both senior academics and early career researchers are encouraged to create a dynamic and inclusive discussion.
