Sinonasal malignancies present unique surgical and reconstructive challenges due to their anatomical complexity and proximity to critical neurovascular structures. Surgical resection, often the cornerstone of curative treatment, results in significant defects requiring careful consideration of reconstructive strategies. The timing, whether immediate or delayed and the type of reconstruction, ranging from local flaps to free tissue transfer can significantly impact patient outcomes, including post-operative functionality, aesthetics, complications, recurrence rates, and overall quality of life.
This article collection invites original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and case studies that explore all aspects of reconstructive timing and techniques in the management of sinonasal malignancies. We seek to highlight advances in surgical technology, comparative outcome studies, patient selection criteria, and multidisciplinary approaches. Contributions addressing patient-reported outcomes, rehabilitation, complications, and cost-effectiveness are also encouraged.
This collection aims to guide clinicians in decision-making, provide a comprehensive resource for reconstructive options, and ultimately improve both functional and oncologic outcomes for patients with sinonasal malignancies.
Please note: Manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics, computational analysis, or predictions of public databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent clinical or patient cohort, or biological validation in vitro or in vivo, which are not based on public databases) are not suitable for publication in this journal.
