Word count: 167 Universities are responsible for training professionals whose decisions in the economic and governmental scenario will lead to comply with sustainability principles. This research seeks to analyze the influence of campus governance and management actions on the implementation of sustainability in teaching, research, and community extension activities from the teaching perspective. A mixed sequential model composed of a theoretical phase and a literature review are conducted through bibliometric and content analysis. In the quantitative phase, a structural model is validated to estimate the relationship among variables. Results of the research showed that teachers act as a bridge to materialize the purposes and principles proposed in university governance actions and are responsible for linking the sustainable management of the campus with teaching and research processes. Likewise, it was identified that teachers commit to connect external stakeholders such as business communities to public institutions for training processes on sustainability. In addition, they are the main reference for scientific production and new knowledge that contributes to the construction of sustainability principles.
