Background

Energy storage technology is not only important to the rapid development of new energy, but also one of the key technologies to promote the large-scale development of new energy and ensure energy security. Energy storage technology includes thermal energy storage, electric energy storage, etc. These energy storage technologies all involve related issues of thermal science. For example, thermal storage technology involves heat transfer issues, and batteries in electric energy storage technology involve heat dissipation issues. As a result, many thermal science issues have been derived in the field of energy storage technology. Many researchers have carried out a large number of studies in these areas and have made gratifying progress.

This Research Topic aims to collect high-quality Original Research and Review papers on thermal science advances for energy storage technology, including heat transfer issues in thermal storage technology, high-performance battery and its thermal management technology in electrochemical energy storage technology, heat conduction process in energy storage materials, heat flow issues in the energy storage process, etc. This Research Topic does its best to increase the visibility of the new method, novel materials and theories, and innovative aspects in practical applications for further promoting the rapid development of utilization of energy storage technology.
