Methods and Applications in Neuroimaging: 2022

This Research Topic is part of the Methods and Applications in Psychiatry series and aims to highlight the latest experimental techniques and methods used to investigate fundamental questions in neurophysiological/neuroimaging methods in psychiatry research. Original research articles, review articles, or opinions on methodologies or applications, including the advantages and limitations of each, are welcome.

This Topic aims to investigate up-to-date neurophysiological/neuroimaging methods, technologies, and reviews advancing psychiatric and neurological research. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
• neuroimaging methods (e.g. MRI/fMRI, PET, CT, SPECT)
• computer vision methods (video analysis, eye-tracking)
• neurophysiological methods (e.g. EEG, ERP, EMG, EDA, ECG, HRV, PPG)
• neuroimaging methods for neurological applications
• neurophysiological methods for neurological applications.

The contributions to this collection will undergo peer review. Novelty may vary, but the utility of a method or protocol must be evident. We welcome contributions covering all aspects of neuroimaging/neurophysiological research from bench to bedside.

This Research Topic welcomes the following article types:
• research articles - describing either new or existing methods that are significantly improved or adapted for specific purposes; these manuscripts may include primary (original) data
• protocols - detailed descriptions, including pitfalls and troubleshooting, to benefit those who may evaluate or employ the techniques
• perspective on methods and protocols relevant to neuroimaging research
• reviews and mini-reviews of topical methods and protocols highlighting the important future directions of the field.
