About this Research Topic

This Research Topic is still accepting articles.

Background

Population health, defined by both physical and mental well-being, transcends multiple disciplines and sectors, requiring a collaborative approach that spans governments, healthcare providers, private businesses, and community organizations. As economic factors play a critical role in shaping health outcomes and interventions, understanding these relationships is key to improving public health management. However, despite advancements in health economics, there is still a considerable need to explore the economic impacts on population health more deeply. This involves a detailed analysis of how economic policies influence health outcomes and the way health systems adapt to meet changing demographic and health profiles.

This Research Topic focuses on leveraging economic tools to enhance the understanding and implementation of population health policies and practices. It aims to evaluate and refine health interventions from an economic perspective, providing insights that can lead to more effective and sustainable health outcomes. This includes examining the economic performance of health interventions particularly designed for diverse populations such as the elderly or those in need of reproductive health services, and assessing policy implications that support these interventions.

To enhance our knowledge on the economic aspects of population health, this Research Topic welcomes contributions that address a broad spectrum of issues including but not limited to:
• Economic performance assessments of health interventions, particularly those targeting aging populations, to enable more effective resource allocation.
• Economic burdens associated with reproductive health and the influence of public policies on family planning and childrearing costs.
• Application of economic models such as Policy Modeling Consistency Index to evaluate the alignment and effectiveness of health policies.
• Resource allocation strategies to optimize efficiency and equity within health systems.
• Exploration of regional disparities in healthcare service capabilities and strategies to mitigate service inefficiencies.
• Examination of the effects of labor protection policies on health outcomes across different industry sectors.
• Support strategies for mental health and well-being, assessing interventions designed to enhance public mental health and resilience.
