This Research Topic is the third volume of the “Multilevel Medical Security Systems and Big Data in Healthcare: Trends and Developments”. Please see the first volume here and second volume here.
As society continues to develop, the importance of people's health is becoming increasingly prominent. It is imperative to accelerate the construction of a multilevel medical security system, aiming to effectively address people's health concerns and continuously improve healthcare quality. Furthermore, healthcare big data, as a vital component in the information era, has profoundly transformed healthcare service models. It has greatly enhanced capabilities to manage public health emergencies, improved the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services, and promoted the sharing of medical resources—ultimately contributing strongly to significant advancements in healthcare. Additionally, establishing high-quality health insurance data is crucial for benefiting individuals and society at large. Thus, actively exploring how health insurance data can empower institutional mechanisms and foster innovation and development in the pharmaceutical industry is a meaningful research objective.
This Research Topic aims to achieve four main goals: (1) to clarify the current situation, developing trends, or characteristics of multilevel medical security systems worldwide or within specific countries; (2) to explore the role played by government actions and health policies in multilevel medical security systems; (3) to discuss the application of healthcare big data in system building, institutional operations, clinical research and development, diagnosis, treatment, and lifestyle management; and (4) to investigate the challenges involved in building healthcare security big data in the context of digitization and informatization. We welcome submissions offering practical insights based on analyzing historical cases and logical predictions about future scenarios.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
• Reform of basic health insurance systems • Development of commercial health insurance • Integration of multilevel medical insurance systems • Health policy and medical insurance • Synergistic development of medical insurance, medical treatment, and pharmaceuticals • Reform and innovation of payment methods • Internet-based healthcare • Development of health information technology • Application of big data in healthcare • Big data applications in healthcare and public health • Big data for medical security
