Background

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients (adults and children) and their families who face problems related to life-threatening illnesses.
Pain management is a key part of end-of-life and palliative care. Pain is one of the common symptoms that can reduce the quality of life of patients and their families. If pain is well managed, quality of life will improve. Because patients are likely to sleep better and have more energy during the day, If they feel less pain, they can be more active, which also reduces the risk of complications.
