Salutogenesis, a term coined by Dr. Aaron Antonovsky, is a study that deals with the factors supporting health. Salutogenic models make use of a measurable 13-item or 29-item scale known to be measured as Sense of Coherence (SOC). Although these terms are relatively new, the concepts and actions expressed in Salutogenesis are familiar to human communities all over the world with different names. Human beings, to proceed towards complete health, not only need to be prevented from diseases with various risks of mortality & morbidity but they need the best Quality of Life (QoL) as perceived by themselves.
To explore innovative approaches to health promotion, an emphasis on health is needed. Exploring such methods to achieve complete health is essential. If a person keeps his sense of coherence intact throughout life, there are very less chances that he/she would face any chronic or life-threatening disease.
This research topic aims to discuss the latest approaches using classical knowledge systems. New experiments and their output can be presented and discussed through case studies, case series, or cohorts. The Research Topic aims to scientifically explore the effect of sensitization and awareness about these salutogenic knowledge systems through evidence-based research.
The scope of this topic is expected to cover all topics related to health. As the word, Salutogenesis, suggests research-oriented contributions and discussions about health would benefit more and more readers. It is expected to cover all steps in research, right from the thought process to the top-most evidence in the pyramid, as a systematic review. There are so many contributors around the globe, who are regularly contributing to the research community, regarding Salutogenesis and these collections aim to help them to gather under one umbrella where the focus will be around health. Health is always underrated while talking in public as well as in the research community. This needs to be worked upon right from the roots. Hence it will be also interesting to know how researchers think about Health and Coherence and their association. One health would be a natural extension and a common path of all these researchers once they are on the same page.
The following themes will be considered for this collection:
* Salutogenesis and AYUSH practices;
* Salutogenesis and Yoga Therapy;
* Salutogenesis and Music Therapy;
* Application of Salutogenic model in Health Promotion Programmes;
* Salutogenic importance of indigenous healing methods.
