Pollutants in the Environment and Efficient Removal Technologies

Pollutants are widely distributed in environmental medias, including atmosphere, water bodies, soil, and rocks, etc. They significantly affect human living environment and health, especially for nondegradable and persistent pollutants. In the past several decades, various technologies have been developed for removing these pollutants, such as physical, chemical, biological, ecological, and their coupled technologies. However, these technologies cannot meet the requirement for removing the increasing pollutants. Therefore, development of novel technologies and enhancement of technologies coupling are urgent and significant for protecting human living environment and health.

Led by Dr. Chunzhen Fan from Wenzhou University, the Pollutants in the Environment and Efficient Removal Technologies section within Frontiers in Environmental Science focuses on the status of pollutants in environmental medias and their efficient removal technologies. The goal of this section is to publish research that provides new ideas and significantly advances our capacity to tackle environmental pollution issues.

We welcome contributions about environmental pollutants removal focusing on:
• New insights into traditional technologies;
• Efficient technologies for nondegradable and persistent pollutants;
• Novel materials;
• Coupled technologies;
• Migration and transformation of pollutants in different media
• Status of pollutants in environmental medias
• Sustainable development of technologies
Pollutants in the Environment and Efficient Removal Technologies welcomes submissions of the following article types: Brief Research Report, Community Case Study, Mini Review, Original Research, Systematic Review.
