About this Research Topic
This Research Topic is closed for submissions.
Background
Epigenetics, defined as non-genetic modification, has become an important research topic in oncology. Various epigenetic modifications occur in cancer, such as DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNAs regulation. The study of epigenetic alterations will provide the basis for cancer treatment. In addition, therapy resistance severely impairs the efficacy of cancer therapy, leading to recurrence and metastasis of various cancers. Therefore, it is crucial to explore the epigenetic regulation in cancer and the molecular mechanisms by which drug resistance and radio resistance are acquired in cancer cells.
The current research topic aims to elucidate recent progress and advances in epigenetic regulation of cancer, and the molecular mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, contribute to understanding the molecular mechanisms of tumor development and provide novel and broad insights for future anticancer treatment.
We welcome submission of Original Research, Review Articles and Mini Review. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
• Epigenetic and post-transcriptional regulation in cancer development. • The mechanism of action related to epigenetic regulation of anti-tumor agents. • The discoveries of novel biomarkers in cancer therapy sensitivity. • The development of chemical drugs or phytochemicals with efficacy to overcome therapy resistance in cancer.
Keywords: Epigentics, non-coding RNAs, cancer therapy, chemoresistance, radioresistance
Important note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
