Frontiers and Sheffield Hallam University form open access publishing agreement

We are delighted to announce that Sheffield Hallam University has established an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers. Sheffield Hallam University Library supports its researchers in making their research more widely available. As part of this support, Sheffield Hallam University has entered an institutional agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement, eligible authors from Sheffield Hallam University may publish in any Frontiers journal at no cost to them and with a simplified process. Eligible authors will benefit from a streamlined invoicing process, managed directly between Frontiers and the Library at Sheffield Hallam University, relieving authors of the responsibility of payment. Furthermore, Sheffield Hallam University and its Library will benefit from a discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for articles covered by this agreement. This agreement will further encourage Sheffield Hallam University authors to publish open access, increasing uptake of open access to the results of mostly publicly funded research, to the benefit of the scholarly community and the public at large, while reducing costs. University of Arizona Libraries to trial open access publishing agreement with Frontiers

Update: From 2020 a 10% discount applies. For more details see the newer blog post As part of a trial agreement until the end of 2019, University of Arizona-affiliated corresponding authors will benefit from a 7.5% discount on APCs when publishing in any of Frontiers’ open access journals, irrespective of what fund covers the APC. The 7.5% discount will apply from 12 July 2019 to 31 December 2019 (reference date is the article acceptance date). In addition to the discount, insights into institutional publishing activity are included and regular data reports will be available directly to the University of Arizona Libraries. Information for authors: If a University of Arizona-affiliated corresponding author submits their manuscript with an affiliated institutional email address domain, the discount will be automatically applied. If submission is done with another email domain, but the University of Arizona is indicated as the corresponding author’s affiliation, Frontiers will verify eligibility for the discount with the University of Arizona Libraries. Frontiers and the University of Exeter form open access publishing agreement

We are delighted to announce that the University of Exeter has established an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers. The University of Exeter Library supports its researchers in making their research more widely available. As part of this support, the University of Exeter has entered an institutional agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement, eligible authors from the University of Exeter may publish in any Frontiers journal at no cost to them and with a simplified process. Eligible papers include: Research funded by UKRI (UK research councils) Research funded by COAF partner charities Research with no open access APC funding from funder of research Eligible authors will benefit from a streamlined invoicing process, managed directly between Frontiers and the Open Access team at the University of Exeter Library, relieving authors of the responsibility of payment. As part of this support, Cranfield University has entered an institutional agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement, eligible authors from Cranfield University may publish in specified Frontiers journals at no cost to them and with a simplified process. Eligible articles are: UK Research and Innovation funded articles submitted to an approved Frontiers journal Eligible authors will benefit from a streamlined invoicing process, managed directly between Frontiers and the Open Access team in Cranfield University Library Service, relieving authors of the responsibility of payment.
