Environmental Behavior and Control of Emerging Chemical Pollutants

Humans and ecological receptors share a common environment that encompasses a myriad of chemicals. Numerous new chemicals are being introduced into the market every year and the environmental consequence of their interaction is a critical issue in modern society. Many known environmental chemical pollutants have been tested and linked to various negative health outcomes including increased risk of diabetes, cancer and dementia.

Chemical pollutants entering the environment can transfer between compartments such as air, soil and water, and their fate, behavior and (eco)toxicological effects are still poorly understood. This Research Topic particularly aims to understand the environmental behavior of recent emerging chemical pollution and provide insight into the development of control strategies on emerging chemical pollution. We welcome Original Research and Review articles that describe the current state-of-the-art in the environmental behavior and control of emerging chemical pollutants.
