Background

The field of Mechanical Engineering continues to develop at a rapid pace, driving technological advancements and transforming industries through innovative and cutting-edge methodologies, materials, and techniques. As the field progresses, the quick dissemination of concise and impactful technical information remains essential for fostering collaboration and accelerating innovation.

Building upon the success of the first volume, this second edition of Technical Briefs in Mechanical Engineering aims to further expand the scope and impact of concise research communications by gathering high-quality technical briefs from a broad range of mechanical engineering disciplines. This collection provides a dedicated platform for the global mechanical engineering community. Engineers, researchers, and industry professionals are invited to share pioneering solutions, emerging technologies, and novel engineering applications.

We welcome submissions covering advancements across all sections within Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on novel techniques, methodologies, and applied research. In particular, we encourage contributions exploring the integration of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data-driven approaches to enhance design, optimization, predictive maintenance, and control systems across mechanical engineering domains such as:

• Biomechanical Engineering
• Digital Manufacturing
• Engine and Automotive Engineering
• Fluid Mechanics
• Heat Transfer Mechanisms and Applications
• Mechatronics
• Micro- and Nanoelectromechanical Systems
• Solid and Structural Mechanics
• Tribology
• Turbomachinery
• Vibration Systems

Submission Guidelines:
This Research Topic is dedicated exclusively to technical briefs, accepting only manuscripts under the Brief Research Report or Mini-Review article type. Submissions must be concise, focusing on novel engineering developments, experimental findings, computational methods, or real-world applications with strong technical relevance. Papers should be supported by experimental data, simulations, or practical case studies.

All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure clarity, technical accuracy, and impact.

Limited to max of 4,000 words, 4 Figures/Tables.
