Experimental Effects of Multi-Dance Sport Training on Student Performance: A Dual Analysis of Physical Fitness and Aesthetic Skill Development

This study addresses contemporary concerns regarding deteriorating physical fitness and underdeveloped aesthetic literacy among university students, coupled with the recognized limitations of conventional physical education in holistic development. Employing a randomized controlled trial design, 90 female physical education majors were divided into three intervention groups (rumba, waltz, yoga) for 16 weeks of systematic training. Through comprehensive assessment methods including standardized testing and psychometric evaluation, the research quantified training-induced adaptations across physical and aesthetic domains. Quantitative analysis demonstrated significant improvements in core strength, lower-body power, agility, and flexibility across all modalities (P<0.05), with rumba showing significantly greater efficacy than waltz in vertical jump enhancement (MD=4.572, P=0.031) and waltz surpassing yoga in flexibility gains P=0.027). Aesthetic assessments revealed differential benefits:waltz training produced superior gains in kinesthetic awareness (MD=-17.660, P<0.001), attributable to its characteristic rotational patterns and spatial dynamics, while rumba yielded greater improvements in aesthetic interpretation (MD=-17.290, P<0.001), likely mediated by its expressive qualities and movement articulation. These findings underscore the genre-specific benefits of dance-based interventions, offering evidence-based rationale for curricular innovation in higher education physical programs.
