Caregiving for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other chronic illnesses is a crucial domain within health psychology, shedding light on the multifaceted burden that caregivers bear. Caregivers often grapple with intense physical, emotional, and psychological stress, demanding a deeper understanding of the factors influencing their well-being. Recent research has focused on elucidating the mechanisms of resilience, coping strategies, and support systems that caregivers draw upon. Significant studies emphasize that the ability to adapt, withstand stress, and maintain a semblance of normalcy in life is pivotal for caregiver resilience. However, there is a pressing need to delve into the variable development of resilience, influenced by personal, social, and environmental determinants.
This Research Topic aims to unravel the dynamics of psychological resilience among caregivers and develop tailored interventions to alleviate caregiver stress and burden. A critical goal is to explore how personality traits, coping styles, and access to community resources contribute to resilience. Furthermore, by examining healthcare policies and how they shape the caregiving experience, this research seeks to identify interventions to enhance support frameworks. Investigating the interrelation between technological innovation, such as digital health tools and policy enhancements, stands at the heart of this effort to provide caregivers with effective solutions that enhance overall quality of life for both caregivers and patients.
