Thin films have tremendous advantages over their bulk counterparts and have been widely used in micro- and nano-electronics. Basically, most of the materials can be grown as thin-film form, and various thin film growth techniques have been applied, such as magnetron sputtering, pulsed laser deposition (PLD), Metal-organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD), Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and so on. The high-quality thin films exhibit a variety of functionalities, including electrical, magnetic, optical properties, etc. These multifunctional thin films are used in different device fabrication.
This Research Topic aims to report the most recent research on thin film technology, from thin film growth to property investigation, to device integration. In addition, the special issue welcomes both experimental and theoretical works in the field of thin-film materials.
