About this Research Topic
The new ferroic materials approach for the realization of strong room-temperature ferroelectricity with high saturation polarization in ferroelectric materials, magnetism with high magnetization in magnetic materials, and strong magnetoelectric (ME) coupling among the ferroelectric and magnetic orderings in multiferroic materials is very promising and potentially capable of enabling a wide range of novel devices are still awaiting suitable materials. The emergence of two-dimensional (2D) magnetic, ferroelectric and multiferroic materials exhibiting physical properties at ultrathin limits above room temperature is also very promising for miniaturization of devices beyond Moore’s law for future energy efficient nanoelectronic devices.
The aim of the current research topic is to cover promising, recent, and novel research trends in the ferroelectric, magnetic and multiferroic area. Areas to be covered in this research topic may include, but are not limited to:
