Background

Occupational health and well-being among educators is an increasing concern worldwide with reports of high prevalence of educator/faculty burnout and employee turnover. A problematic situation with increasing prevalence of stress-related ill-being and burnout is reported among both education employees and students. In the U.S., more than 60% of higher education employees report to experience that they are burned out because of work, and approximately 40% of students report clinically significant symptoms of depression. Moreover, the survey of higher education employee retention report that voluntary turnover among employees have increased from 7,9% in 2020-2021 to 14,3% in 2022-2023.
