Read MoreThe Electrochemistry section publishes high-quality fundamental and applied research across all aspects of electrochemistry, a topical branch of chemistry that examines phenomena resulting from combined chemical and electrical effects. Electrochemistry plays an integral role in modern science and engineering and this interdisciplinary forum solicits significant advances in areas including, but not limited to:
· Electrochemical energy storage and conversion
· Electrodeposition
· Corrosion
· Electrochemical engineering and technology
· Electrochemical materials science
· Molecular, organic and biological electrochemistry
· Electrocatalysis and photoelectrochemistry
· Physical electrochemistry
· Analytical electrochemistry
All studies must contribute novel aspects of electrochemical science or present new insights into electrochemical processes. Reports dealing with technical electrochemistry do not fall within the scope of this section and should be submitted to more specialized journals. Aspects relating to electrochemical energy storage and conversion are not restricted to fundamental work, therefore, this section operates in close collaboration with our sister Journal, Frontiers in Energy Research.
Indexed in: PubMed Central, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, DOAJ, CrossRef, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), CLOCKSS
PMCID: all published articles receive a PMCID
Electrochemistry welcomes submissions of the following article types: Book Review, Code, Correction, Data Report, Editorial, Erratum, General Commentary, Hypothesis and Theory, Methods, Mini Review, Opinion, Original Research, Perspective, Protocols, Review, Specialty Grand Challenge, Systematic Review and Technology Report.
All manuscripts must be submitted directly to the section Electrochemistry, where they are peer-reviewed by the Associate and Review Editors of the specialty section.
Articles published in the section Electrochemistry will benefit from the Frontiers impact and tiering system after online publication. Authors of published original research with the highest impact, as judged democratically by the readers, will be invited by the Chief Editor to write a Frontiers Focused Review - a tier-climbing article. This is referred to as "democratic tiering". The author selection is based on article impact analytics of original research published in all Frontiers specialty journals and sections. Focused Reviews are centered on the original discovery, place it into a broader context, and aim to address the wider community across all of Chemistry.
