This is the second volume of the Research Topic "Advancing Biomechanics: Enhancing Sports Performance, Mitigating Injury Risks, and Optimizing Athlete Rehabilitation." Please see the first volume here.
The field of biomechanics has been transformed significantly by technological advancements in both hardware and software. These innovations, including advanced cameras, inertial measurement units, electromyography, and sophisticated software for modeling, simulation, and deep learning, have bridged the gap between laboratory research and practical applications. This has led to a more nuanced understanding of the biomechanical factors that influence sports performance and injury risks, allowing for more precise measurements and analysis outside the traditional lab setting.
This Research Topic aims to delve deeply into the latest biomechanical technologies and methodologies, focusing particularly on their roles in boosting sports performance, minimizing injury risks, and enhancing rehabilitation processes for athletes. Researchers and practitioners are invited to contribute new findings and share insights that could push the boundaries of biomechanics further, offering evidence-based strategies to augment athlete performance and well-being.
To gather further insights in advancing biomechanics applied to sports, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes: • Biomechanical analysis of sports techniques for performance enhancement and injury prevention. • Emerging technologies and methodologies in biomechanics for sports performance evaluation. • Biomechanical strategies for reducing sports injury risks. Rehabilitation techniques based on biomechanical studies for injured athletes. • Biomechanics in the design and development of sports equipment.
We welcome submissions in the form of original research articles, review articles, case studies, methodological papers, and perspectives or opinion articles, each enriching our understanding of biomechanics in sports contexts.
