About this Research Topic

Background

As Frontiers in Psychology celebrates its 15th anniversary as a Q1 journal, we reflect on fifteen years of extraordinary progress across the psychological sciences and look forward to the innovations that will shape the next decade. To mark this milestone, we invite contributions from Chief Editors, influential authors, and the broader scientific community, highlighting both the key developments of the past and the research that will define the future of psychology.

This flagship collection welcomes submissions addressing major advances in any psychological discipline, including but not limited to:

• Health and Clinical Psychology
• Cognitive Science
• Consciousness Research
• Perception Science
• Personality and Social Psychology

The “Pioneers & Pathfinders” Research Topic is open across all 34 specialty sections of the journal. We seek well-considered, thought-provoking, and forward-looking articles representing the diversity and dynamism of psychology.

Please note that reports on new experimental data will not be considered for this research topic unless the data is used to support a reflection upon the state of the field or its future; to illustrate a challenge or report on opinion (e.g., a survey). Authors are encouraged to submit articles of the following types: all types of reviews, methods, and, in particular, perspectives, opinions, and conceptual analysis.

This anniversary is also an opportunity to extend our gratitude to all readers, authors, reviewers, and editors for helping shape Frontiers in Psychology into a leading open-access journal.
