We are delighted to announce that Frontiers and the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) have formed an open access publishing agreement. Under the terms of the Austria Open Access Publishing Framework Agreement, the Graz University of Technology (Technische Universität Graz) can cover article processing charges for eligible authors in any of the Frontiers journals. Eligible authors are corresponding authors of a given article who meet the funding criteria of the TU Graz. Those submitting an FWF-funded article can select the university as the institutional payer. Please be sure to include all funding information in the ‘Statements’ section. We are delighted to announce that Frontiers and the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren) have established an agreement entailing the inclusion of three new members of the Helmholtz Association in an agreement on open access publishing. Building on an agreement established in 2015 comprising a consortium of then nine member institutions of the Helmholtz Association, Frontiers and the Helmholtz Association have now agreed on the expansion of this consortium to include three further member institutions. The new members are: The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V., DLR), The Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR), and The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (Alfred-Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung, AWI). We are delighted to announce that the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, former Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences (Leibniz-Institut für Meereswissenschaften, IFM-GEOMAR), has formed an open access publishing agreement with Frontiers. GEOMAR has become a participating member in an agreement for open access publishing between the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren) and Frontiers, and as part of this agreement a 15% discount will be applied to APCs for articles by GEOMAR-affiliated corresponding authors. This discount is applied to the net APC, i.e. the APC, which would otherwise be payable after deduction of any other discounts that may apply.
